Dunu DN-17 Crater & Revised Dunu DN-18 Hawkeye Review/Comparison

As written in the title, this is my personal thoughts about the Dunu DN-17 Crater and DN-18 Hawkeye.

First I would like to thank Rocky from Dunu for choosing me as a winner for the review contest.

He is a great and generous person!

Now to the review.

DN-17 Crater

As the scores say, the DN-17 Crater is absolutely not for bass lovers.

I would say that these earphones are very well balanced and easy to listen to.

Due to these characteristics, these work great with songs that are mainly female vocal, piano and other acoustic instruments.

It has a really clear sound and with a wide soundstage and is for detailed listning rather that fun listening.

These earphones best suite, Pop, UK Rock, Classic and other genres that dont require bass.

The body of the earphones are metal and feel like they will withstand a lot of abuse.

On the other hand, the cable feels a little thin, which wories me a little.

Also the cables feel sticky and might catch some lint.

As other Dunu products, the accesories are amazing.

DN-18 Hawkeye (Revised Edition)

I received the revised edition of the Hawkeyes. I have previously tested out the older ones and was amazed on the

imporvemant they had made with the revised edtion. Better sound quality, more clarity and a little less bass.(But better

on the high end than the previous ones)

Compared to the Craters, these are more emphasized on the lower end, with stronger/clearer bass and OK mids and OK Highs.

Due to the bass, this will lower the clarity and the sound-stage but is more than enough for me.

These worked best for me with Dubstep, R&B, electornica and songs that require more bass.

Male vocal were quite nice thanks to the bass.

Same as the Craters, these have a metal body and feel sturdy. But the cord is the same and as I said, feels a little flimsy.

Accesories are almost the same except that the DN-18 has a Semi hard case instead of a metal case:

- 6 pairs of buds

- Airline adapter

- 1/4inch adapter

- Shirt clip

- 2 cases (1x ,Semi hard case/1x fake leather pouch)

- Microfiber

MSRP is $60

Conclusion

Sound quality is well worth the price tag of both of these items.

It just depends on your personal taste. The Craters are for people who prefer clarity and detail,

and the Hawkeyes are for people who like bass and bass heavy music.

So as long as it matches your taste, either one is well worth the money. Maybe get 2 and changing them

depending on what your listening to or how you are feeling.

Comparision比較: iBasso T3 & D2+ Boa

So I got the iBasso T3 recently because the D2+ Boa was too big.

Here is a comparasion in size:

Much difference in size, but not much difference in sound quality!

But the build quality on the T3 seems a litter cheaper than the price.

Unboxing箱空け: Sennheiser HD650

Hey everyone!

I got the Sennheiser HD650 today!
Your probably thinking why I got these, even after getting the Beats Solo HD a few days ago.

Heres the story.
Yes, I bought the Monster Beats by dr Dre Solo HD about 4days ago.
But I returned them to the store that I bought it at and had them replaced with the Sennheiser HD650.
Why did I return them?
The hinge on the left side for the folding mechanism was loose!(wobbly)
If they were headphones that only cost30$, I would live with it and don't really care, but they cost about 250$, and I could not tolerate with the bad build quality.
I might of been unlucky and got a bad batch, but I cannot resist bad build quality for 250$.

Talked with the guy at the store and he recomennded the Sennheiser HD650. I listened to them and was amazed with the bass impact and overall quality of the sound.

So thats the story.

今日ゼンハイザーのHD650を買っちゃいました！
Monster Beats Solo HD買ったばっかやん！なんで!?と思っている方は多いと思います。

実はSolod HDを返品しました。
4日前くらいに買ったのですが、不具合があり返品しました。
不具合といっても音が聞こえなくなったとかではなく、左耳のヒンジが緩かった（がたつきがあった）からです。3000円くらいのヘッドホンなら何も文句も言わずに使っていましたが、3万円にしてはありえない出来の悪さだと思います。たまたま運が悪く、不具合のある物を買ってしまった可能性があるのですが、値段が値段だったので許せなかったです。

特に決まった機種が欲しいというのはなく、店員のお勧めを聞いたところ、HD650やHD598を勧められました。HD650を聞いて、衝撃を受け、買ってしまいました。
低音域が強めなのに関わらず、中音域、高音域もかなりきれいに出る。

そんな感じで、HD650の購入へ至りました。
とりあえず箱空けビデオはYouTubeにアップロード中です。準備でき次第アップします！

音楽と音質

こんばんは！
今日は音楽を聞く事と音質について語っていきたいと思います。

人それぞれ、物の聞こえ方が違います。
音楽は食事するのと同じで、自分に合う物や好きな物を受け入れます。

そういう意味では質は大事です。

イヤホンやその他の機器をそろえたり、お金のかかりそうな感じですが、そうでもないです。

身近にできる事としては、CDなどで音楽を取り込む際に、ビットレートをあげる事です。
基本的には標準で１２８kbpsにセットされております。こちらを１９２kbpsなどに上げてみてください。当然ながら、ファイルのサイズは大きくなりますが、それなりの価値があります。

建物と同じで、基礎が大事です。

基礎を良くした所で、今度はイヤホンやヘッドホンの話になります。
決して高いから音が良いとは限りません。すべては貴方の耳次第です。
まずは家電量販店に行って、視聴できるイヤホン／ヘッドホンはしましょう。
自分の耳を信じる事が大事です。最近インターネットの普及でレビューを参考に
したりしますが、イヤホンやヘッドホンは自分で確かめて買いましょう。
気に入った物は必ず高いとは限らないです。

あと、音楽を「聞く」という意味では付属のイヤホンで十分ですが、味っけがないです。
イヤホン変えるだけで、音楽を聴く事楽しくなります。

Music and Quality sound

Today I will be talking about listening to music and the quality of the sound.

There are many people out there with many types of ears.
Listening to music is the same as eating something.
Usually you would prefer something that taste better.

Quallity matters.

But quallity does not mean you have to get expensive earphones or equipment.

An easy way to get better quality for free is to raise the bit-rate of the music you
rip from a CD. Most default settings are set to 128kbps. Try raising it to 192kbps.
CD quality is about 192kbps. Yes, the file size will get bigger, but it is worth a try.
The settings depend on your media player so search the internet about raising
the bit-rate.

Better sound = more excitement.

Now you got better quality sound, you will probably want to get better earphones or
headphones. But better is not always expensive.
Go to your near by electronic appliance store and test out as many ear/headphones
as you can. Trust only your ears and not the reviews on the internet. What your ear
likes is what you should get. It might result on being expensive but not always.

The earphones that came with your player or phone will do the job of playing music
but is missing the salt and pepper.

This is how to have fun with listening to your music!

Reviewレビュー:iBasso D2+Boa

Hey Everyone!
Will be reviewing a portable headphone amplifier today!

The iBasso D2+ BOA.

This is a middle class headphone amplifier which also has a USB DAC(Digital Analog Converter). For those who don't know what a DAC is, this basically becomes a soundcard for your PC.

The reason I use this is because I use an iPhone(iPod) to listen to music.
The stock amplifier in a iPhone/iPod isn't that good in quality.
By connecting the D2+ BOA with a Direct Line out cable, it bypasses the amp
inside the iPhone/iPod. This results in clearer and better sound.

Pros:
- Good build quality
- Great Sound
- Long battery life(has a rechargable battery inside)

Cons:
A little big to carry around everyday

Bottom Line:
I give this amp 4/5 Stars.
If it was a little smaller, it would be better. In that Case, the T3's might be better.

今日はヘッドホンアンプ（PHPA)の紹介していきたいとおもいます。

今回レビューするのはiBasso D2+ Boaです。

こちらのアンプの位置付けは中級機くらいですかね？
USB DAC（デジタル／アナログコンバーター）付きです。
DACとは、PC内蔵のサウンドカード代わりになるというような感じです。

こちらを購入した理由は、iPhone/iPod内蔵のアンプがしょぼいからです。
こちらをライン出力ケーブルでiPhone/iPodとつなぎ、iPhone/iPod内蔵のアンプを
バイパスします。結果、より解像度の高い、音場の広い音を得られます。

良い点：
- 作り込まれています。（つくりがしっかりしている）
- 高音質
- 内蔵バッテリーが結構長持ち（充電可能です）

悪い点：
- 日々持ち運ぶのが苦になる大きさ

まとめ：
こちらの商品は個人的に５点中４点です。
もうちょい小さければ良かったです。だったら同社のT3を買えって感じですね。。。
